Robots are set to invade the rooms of sleeping hotel guests – but don’t worry, it’s all in the name of art.
Ibis hotels in Berlin, London and Paris are seeking 40 guests willing to let the robots paint them as they sleep.
The beds will be hooked up to 80 sensors that will transmit information about their movements, sound and temperature to the robotic arm, which will then create "unique acrylic paintings".
But if the prospect of a cyborg Cezanne watching you sleep sounds unnerving, never fear: the robot won’t actually be in the same room as the participants. Instead the paintings will be created in a remote studio and the robot will be connected through wifi.
The company hasn’t decided if it’ll let couples participate, and can’t say how the paintings may be affected by movements created by sex.
The nocturnal art will take place from October 8 in Paris, followed by Berlin on October 26 and London on November 4.
