POLICE have been left shaking their heads after an unlicensed, heavily pregnant woman was allegedly caught driving with a blood alcohol reading of 0.103 - twice the legal limit.
Officers pulled over the 27-year-old woman, who is eight-months pregnant, in Dongara south of Geraldton, WA at 11pm on Saturday as part of Operation Octopus, an intense police sting targeting drink drivers.
Police said the woman claimed to be in labour and on her way to Dongara Hospital, despite driving in the opposite direction to the hospital.
Also in the car were four other adults, who police said were intoxicated, and an unrestrained two-year-old boy in the backseat.
