WEST PALM BEACH — A West Palm Beach man is accused of beating another man over who is a “better Mexican”. Rudy “El Caballo” Yhoan, 26, remains at the Palm Beach County Jail without bond after being arrested Sunday on a charge of aggravated battery and two counts of aggravated assault. West Palm Beach Police say they were dispatched to Roseland Drive and Henry Avenue on April 9 to reports of an aggravated battery. There, they found a 35-year-old man with swelling around his right eye and cuts to his face. He was taken to Good Samaritan Medical Center in West Palm Beach for treatment. A few weeks later, police spoke with the 35-year-old man, whose name was withheld in the arrest report. The man said that sometime in March, he and his friends were drinking beer at his house when Yhoan showed up. Yhoan got out of his vehicle and said “he was a better Mexican than they were,” the report said. He pointed a gun at the group of friends and threatened to shoot them “for no apparent reason,” as he kept saying that he was a “better Mexican.” Yhoan added that the next time he saw the 35-year-old, he’d kill him. Then, on April 9, the man said he was riding his bike when he heard Yhoan scream from a vehicle, “I’m going to run you over,” according to the report. Yhoan allegedly tried running over the man, but he managed to jump off his bike just in time. Before he could get up from the ground, Yhoan and two other men began to kick the man in the head. They eventually stopped and fled the scene.
