Illinois man gets prison for ironing shirt on child's back

A northern Illinois man has been sentenced to 12 years in prison after burning a toddler by using her back to iron one of his work shirts.

The Rockford Register Star reports that 43-year-old Elliott Moore pleaded guilty on Wednesday to aggravated battery to a child before being sentenced.

Rockford police were sent to Rockford Memorial Hospital on Feb. 5, 2010 to take a report on the 18-month-old child, who had a large, open burn mark in the middle of her back.

every other day i log into wtf news i see an eyecatching story of a crime a BLACK MAN OR WOMAN COMMITED. i see very few WHITE STORIES IN COMPARISON.

You'd be wrong. The headlines don't read "Black Illinois man gets prison...". I know for a fact when I post stories I post stories that fit the niche.

I think you're the one who's a little bit sensitive perhaps from whatever it is you're exposed to in life. I can tell you that you're making something out of nothing right now.
