AN AUSTRALIAN woman has been arrested by the KGB during a topless protest against Belarusian president Alexander Lukashenko.

Filmmaker Kitty Green was protesting with Femen, a Ukranian protest organisation, when she was arrested.

The group of topless women said three of its members were abducted by security officers, beaten, humiliated and left naked in a forest during the protest.

It is believed Ms Green was filming the protest while working as a videographer for the group.
She is also believed to be making a documentary.

Ms Green has told friends on Facebook she was arrested but is safe and has now fled the region.
