A PROMINENT Territory woman has been rescued by her husband after her aircraft crashed on the edge of a croc-infested river.
Marlee Ranacher, 49, the daughter of pastoralist and author Sara Henderson, had just taken off from Bullo River station about 7.30am, when she experienced power loss, and she made an emergency landing, the NT News reports.
Despite climbing out of the plane relatively unhurt, her ordeal continued, when she was forced to swim through the crocodile infested waters of the swollen Victoria River.
Once on the other side of the river, she activated her personal emergency beacon.
Her husband, a helicopter pilot, immediately flew to the location and found her safe on the banks of the river.
