A MOTHER of two stole $891,000 from a group of companies, sending one broke, and spent it on luxury handbags, shoes and overseas holidays, a judge heard yesterday.
Police raiding Duvelle Jeffrey's home found stacked boxes containing more than 100 luxury items including handbags by Hermes, Louis Vuitton, Gucci and Balenciaga, and Chanel shawls. One Hermes handbag was valued at $49,000, reported the Herald Sun.
"Once I started I just couldn't stop," Jeffrey told the police.
Prosecutor Amina Bhai told the County Court Jeffrey gave money to her parents, sisters and friends, and took them on overseas holidays.
The 31-year-old was then earning $3000 a week from companies in the Comunicom Group for contract bookkeeping services.
