You're on your holiday, you're slightly hungover, and you want to sweat it out in the sun. You wake up early, walk down to the pool, and what do you see? Every single sun bed taken up by towels with the German national flag.
Choggers, otherwise known as chair hoggers, are everywhere. One place that choggers are vying for worldwide dominance are on cruise ships (not exactly a gaptivity but hey, we'll go with it - Ed).
One cruise company, Carnival Cruises, have implemented their own crackdown policy of naming and shaming choggers in an attempt to put them off.
Staff walk around the cruise ship and if they come across a deck chair or sun bed that's been 'saved' with towels and books then they place a 40-minute warning sticker. If no one comes back and actually uses the chair or sun bed then their stuff is stored away and they've been relegated to the naughty step.
John Heald, Carnival's senior cruise director, said: "It has been a subject discussed over and over again and it has been so because it continues to be a concern. We went with 40 minutes as we felt that this was a fair amount of time if guests get up to eat, drink, pee, swim or slide."
