Using shoe laces sterilised in vodka and hot towels from business class, a healthy baby boy was delivered 36,000 feet in the air on a Delta flight bound for Africa.
First-time mother Katherine Oyedoh was 37-weeks pregnant when her water broke on board the March 23 flight from Atlanta, Georgia.
Susan Carnes, a veteran flight attendant from Tampa, Florida, said in her 29 years of flying she had never encountered a passenger going into labour mid-air, but reacted immediately.
