A New York hotel is offering what it claims is the world's most expensive omelette for $1,000.
The Zillion Dollar Frittata, costing the equivalent of £650, is topped with 10oz of exclusive sevruga caviar.
It also contains six eggs and an entire lobster, and is on the menu at Norma's restaurant at the Le Parker Meridien Hotel.
A smaller version featuring one ounce of caviar is on offer for $100.
A London restaurant previously served up what was then thought to be the planet's costliest omelette - for a comparative bargain £90.
That pricey delight, available from Bosidale, was made of gulls' eggs and contained lobster, crab and truffles.
